Heather Godfrey

I am a Mathematics teacher at Rowlett Middle Academy, where I have spent the last 9 years working with students in grades 5 through 9. I focus on finding innovative, hands-on ways to teach foundational concepts, believing that students learn best when they can actively engage with the material.

 

I am dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all my students. I am also proud to serve as a Google Educator, integrating technology to make learning more accessible. My teaching philosophy is built on kindness, clear communication, and building positive relationships. I strive to help students find agency in their learning while maintaining supportive expectations. My personal mantra is: "TRY your best, leave the rest, some day or night, it will all come right."

 

At Rowlett, I enjoy collaborating with my colleagues to refine our work and support our school community through events like our 'RowliCon' cosplay contest.

 

Outside of school, my time is centered around my two children. For my own hobbies, I enjoy reading manga, listening to music, practicing yoga, watching Anime, solving logic puzzles, and playing board games.
