Summer Message from Mr. Clark

Hello RMA families,

We are excited about all the new student leaders and families joining our campus in August because you add great value to our positive, safe, and supportive culture at Rowlett Middle Academy! I hope that you are Sharpening Your Saw with family and friends after the completion of another successful school year at RMA. Our aim for the 22-23 school year is to Put 1st Things 1st and focus on our school mission and the core values that make Rowlett a special learning environment for students, families, and staff. The purpose of this email is to reach out to all students and families to provide some important information that will help you get prepared for the 2022-2023 school year.

RMA staff is Synergizing this summer by developing lesson plans in departments, collaborating in teams, and designing interactive and creative activities to engage and meet the needs of our student leaders. I encourage all students to be Proactive by completing their summer reading and interdisciplinary projects. Completing these activities will help ensure that students continue their academic momentum and to help prevent learning loss over the summer. It is also essential that students spend time outside having unstructured fun, playing, and exercising which is important to development and being a healthy kid.

As schools across the nation transition away from the pandemic, there is much discussion about what students in this generation need to be successful. RMA has been mindful to Seek 1st to Understand Then to Be Understood with our students and staff and we have made updates and changes on campus when needed. By Beginning with the End in Mind we were able to maintain an awesome school environment and continue developing the whole child by prioritizing positive relationships, infusing the Arts, and promoting leadership during Covid. I am confident that RMA is meeting all of our students where they are both academically and socially, while also preparing them to be 21st Century Leaders and good citizens on campus and in their communities which is a Win-Win for everyone.

Please visit our school website here to access information about summer assignments, uniforms, or other important RMA topics. Have a great summer and I will see you at Open House & Parent University on 8/6!
