Rowlett Middle Academy is a very special place. The secret ingredient that makes our community so special is our parents and the greater Rowlett community. Volunteering time and expertise is an expectation of all Rowlett families. We would like to invite you to attend two very important meetings on Wednesday, May 4th at the Rowlett Elementary campus. Childcare and pizza for children aged 4 and older will be available.
The first meeting is the annual Rowlett Family Association (RFA) meeting at 6:00 in Flynn Hall. This is a very important meeting for parents to meet other Rowlett families and to sign up to support committees for the 22-23 school year. These committees support both REA and RMA. RFA is organized into 3 major categories: Culture (Family Fun Nights, Field Day, Dances, Staff Appreciation, Family Picnics, etc.); Service (Families Helping Families, Mentoring, community service events, NJHS events, etc.); and Fundraising (Sponsorship Drive, Otis Spunkmeyer, Gala, and Golf Tournament). We will share a brief description of many of these opportunities so you will know what to sign up for. All new families will be invited so they have the same opportunity to sign up.
The second meeting, immediately following the RFA meeting is our year-end School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting. The SAC for the RMA will start at 7:00 pm and will remain in the Flynn Hall. During this meeting, we will discuss the purpose of SAC, explain the different positions that will be voted at the first SAC meeting of the 22-23 school year, and discuss other important end-of-year topics. I strongly encourage you to attend this meeting to be proactive and get involved on campus, meet new families, provide valuable feedback to administration, and to share your voice to help make RMA better!
